Unbeaten strawweight contender Tatiana Suarez will face her biggest challenge yet when she meets a former title challenger at UFC 298 on February 17.

Suarez quickly rose to prominence among UFC fans when she won Season 23 of The Ultimate Fighter, and another four victories following her time on TUF made her one of the most promising talents in the women’s strawweight division before injuries sidelined her for nearly four years.

The 32-year-old finally returned to the Octagon this year and made up for lost time by scoring a pair of submission wins over Montana De La Rosa and former strawweight queen Jessica Andrade.

Along with confirmation that former two-division champion Henry Cejudo will meet #2-ranked bantamweight Merab Dvalishvili at the event, the UFC has announced that Suarez is set to take on Amanda Lemos at UFC 298.

Currently the UFC’s #4-ranked strawweight contender, Lemos last stepped into the Octagon for a failed bid to claim the division’s title when she was dominated by Weili Zhang in the co-main event of UFC 292.

“Amandinha” stopped back-to-back opponents to earn her shot at Zhang, and prior to a submission loss to Andrade last year the Brazilian had also put together an impressive five-fight win streak that included another three finishes.

A win over Lemos could be enough to earn Suarez her long-awaited shot at UFC gold, and after the two strawweights square off at UFC 298 the event will also see Alexander Volkanovski attempt to defend his featherweight belt for a sixth time when he takes on the unbeaten Ilia Topuria.
